Ladies Lunch

Two Sundays ago Rosalyn, a woman from the Philippines who is in my evening Bible study, saw me coming back into the church after catching the Youth I's bball game outside.
"Becky, have you had lunch yet?"
"Well no actually I was just about to..."
"Why don't you join us?"

I walk into a classroom (and the choir of angels sing halleluiah) and see the table filled with homemade food from the Philippines. I thought I was going to intrude but the women treated me like a celebrity.
"Hey Becky nice to meet you! We're so glad you joined us! Rice?" Sure!
"This is chicken adobo. Here is steamed broccoli, so healthy! Fresh fruit. Sticky rice. Fresh fish...."

The next thing I knew my plate was packed to the max and I had coffee and silverware. How did they do that?! Gosh I love this hospitality!

The women were anxious to hear about my life and introduce themselves.
"Hi, I'm Julia. Like Julia Roberts." or "Hi, I'm Joy, like Joy to the world!" Luckily I had a scrapbook in my bag (you know, to show those 5 students who were going to come to my Sunday School class) and when "Joy to the world" laid eyes on my younger brothers she said, "Oooo they're SO handsome! Can I come home with you?" Her face turned bright red and we laughed and laughed when I told her how old they were. Joy's response, "Well, you can't stop love!" LOL
