Thai Cooking Class

Martha Stewart watch out! This girl just completed her first Thai cooking course. Yep you heard correctly...Becky Lovell...cooked. Wow! Shocker huh mom?!

I'm so glad Rachel persuaded the group to check out the cooking class because we really did have a fun time. We started by checking out the local market. (Sidenote: America needs to get with the program with fresh fruits and veggies.) Then headed to a local restaurant and got to crack-a-lackin' on cooking. Trust me, the food was AMAZING! My grandma(s) would be so proud!

Arrived in Thailand

I've arrived in Thailand. The more I travel in Southeast Asia....the more I fall in love with this part of the world.

At the Bangkok airport I met up with Rachel, Hum, and Alice, and immediatly got on a train to Auytthaya.
and spent the night at Lotus Guesthouse and went on a tour of the city. ahhh-mazing! My pictures won't do it justice.

Thailand here I come!

Thailand here I come! My flight leaves 3:30pm tomorrow (Wednesday) and I'll be meeting up with Korenza, Carolyn, and Rachel. First we'll head to N. Thailand and visit some Tibet hilltribes then head south towards the infamous beaches. Nothing really set in stone.

I'll think of you while I'm sipping on my fruit shake soaking in the beach front. Ahhh the life of a study abroad student.

Basketball

On Saturday I had my last Lingnan University basketball game. I can't believe the season is over. whaaa. I refuse to believe that I only have 2 months left here in Hong Kong. I'm going to leave here kicking-and-screaming.

One siiick box

Believe me, snail mail is priceless to a study abroad student. Thank you so much Pen Pal Kailee for hooking me up with the siiiick Easter/Birthday package. I'll forever cherish it!

Back to reality

The past week was a bit crazy due to culture shock from Vietnam, midterms, and visitors. Midterms hit the worst. See, when you're a study abroad student responsibility is cruel-and-unusual punishment. pure torture.

(In my hippie voice)
"Look Mr. Professor, I'm finding myself out here. Free bird. I need to just see new lands, learn from others, love, yeah....love. So look Mr. I have a doctorate, I'm not ready to be tied down by your judgemental grading system. No more judgement please. Just love. I'm a free bird."

I'll be emailing my teachers today and it will go something like this...
Dear Teachers,
Remember me, the horrible study abroad student who missed ALL of last week?! Well I'll be missing next week due to travel too. SURPRISE! Please just give me a "P" and we'll be friends.

Last Day in the HK

The last day in HK with the Americans started with catching the last bit of the English Week concert.
Then we headed to the ober-fancy Pizza Hut. ('The Hut' is much more upscale here.) Caught the bus to Mong Kok and walked through the flower market and took pictures of the bird market.
We ended the evening watching The Pursuit of Happyness (I'll forever love Will Smith) and eating at Simply Thai (Thailand here I come!).
